I don't have a lot of news for you time but what news I do have, I am extremely excited to share. I told you that I have been working on a series of features and I cannot wait to share the first one with you:

The Dark Muse I: Alfred Hitchcock - Go give it some love

I believe that no art exists without influence. Nothing is born out of a vacuum. There's a lot of artists on deviantArt that pay homage to the those that have influenced them and everyone has a favorite. I wanted to start off with a name that everyone will recognize and I have lots more in store for you.... Stephen King, George Romero, David Fincher, Nosferatu, etc. If you have a particular favorite amongst the greats in horror, let me know! Who gets you excited?



I want to make the Horror and Macabre gallery as pleasant for you to surf as I possibly can. In an effort to accomplish this monumental task, I have asked the wonderful `RockstarVanity and `Xerces to go through the galleries in a systematic fashion and report images that don't belong. I have been going through these reports on a regular basis and in a short time, 1500 images have been moved to more appropriate galleries through these joined efforts. And that doesn't even include all the recent images that I move on my own!!

I want you to know that slowly but surely I am trying to make the gallery easier and more pleasurable to browse. I want to encourage all of you (regardless of what gallery you frequent most) to report images that you think are misplaced. Gallery Directors spend a lot of time trying to make browsing a more pleasurable experience, but we miss things.. help us out and report away!!

Part of my ongoing quest is to raise awareness and knowledge of this oft misunderstood genre. Below are some amazing artists that dwell outside the realm of dA. Take a look at their work, I promise you'll be amazed, disturbed, and scared witless.
