A tribute to Micheal Jackson - the greatest artist of our time - in words and images..
Lost by =Katerina423 is a painful image to look at and one that conjures up emotions buried in all of us. (Featured by `Davenit)
CommentsCool. For me the most interesting aspect is the heavy eye makeup - it's like a clue that she was a different person with a different life only hours earlier. It creates a sense that she left the house for a great night out that went horrifically wrong. Between that and the bloody nails and gauze there's a sort of map of descent there. Especially with the body language and expression that seems to say "how the fuck did I come to this"
My understanding of conceptual art is any artwork with a conceptual basis - where the idea came first, and the artwork forms an communicative expression of that idea, so this definitely meets that criteria. It seems like a lot of people think that conceptual just means "art with a point", which is wrong. -- ---------------------------------------- Art Is Murder - Executions of Creativity Foe me I see the weight of the world on her shoulders, the closed eyes hiding all the anguish and pain
-- ART [link] Stock [link] =Magic-Myth Real beauty comes from within, a treasure for those that can see it. While the viewer can get a sense of hurt/injured, it goes beyond that to where lost is a very fitting description of where someone in that position would be.
The closeness of the composition adds to the fragmentation of someone living in a world of pain and abuse. A beautiful entry! -- ------ Beauty is nothing but the first touch of terror we're just able to endure. ~ Rilke This is a fantastic photograph and firstly just a well done for getting back in there.
As for the picture itself. It fills me with despair. It creates a raw feeling of agony. You convey beautifully the loss of every hope. Again, it's not something I'd want on my bedroom wall but as an emotive portrait I love it. The makeup is fantastic. It really adds to the feel of the picture. The close cropped angle brings you right in to this world and overwhelms you with feeling. The details and the gauze make you wonder what path brought her to such despair, it makes you want to know her story, even though you know it ends badly. -- Wallflower Arts Hmmm, someone is back in the saddle and cookin'.
-- nice styling with the makeup. the nail polish residue is an excellent detail. makes the photo look more candid and less like a set up, which by the way it doesn't. further cementing your talents as a stylist.

-- **** Stopping deforestation in Brazil would prevent as much greenhouse emission as tripling the fuel efficiency of all the automobiles in the world. **** [link] A stunning use of colours, especially in using such primary colours to create this distinct feeling of unease. I love the fact it's composed to focus on the eye and fingers, the two most expressive parts of the human body, and that the character is both worn and old, yet young at the same time, it's a lovely contrast. I'd say you've captured the feeling very well indeed. Good luck in the contest!
it's a very haunting image, and i am glad u got a HM
I read ur journal too about DA comments, and in a weird way this portrays how i feel about it. The heavy make up representing how fresh faced and beautiful i thought DA and all it's pple, then slowly (from the time i have been here) beaten down by the rip's lack of art respect, the Gazzilion veiws, favs, comments on pple gallery full of crap, and talented artists out there struggling. For me this portrays Hurt, betrayal and time to get out! -- Be Gentle |
