What happens when you scream and there is no one to hear it?
Does that mean you actually screamed?
Is all that chaos inside a reflection of reality... or are you just in a vacuum sucking in air that doesn't exist... are you just slowly going insane?

So Spider and Kat went for a walk on the Berkeley campus one fine day. The nasty ancient women's gym provided the perfect backdrop to what has now become one of my favorite images. I've almost never had the opportunity to do "location shots" and i'm so happy with the way this looks that I could spit. You can now find this image in the "In Our Times" gallery on my webpage.

I saw this shot last year, but never commented before because I wasn't sure what to say, but an interesting perspective came to me about this. While the questions in your Artist Comments represent the voice of a protagonist, this image can also tell a story of complacency or concession. One is in an open space with ample room to move, and all the light in the world to not get lost, with the door just within reach - but is too exhausted or jaded or brainwashed into this stasis to just lift him or herself up to take those last few steps to freedom (or clarity, or closure, or whatever conceptual destination we can think of). And the fact that the exit is blurred drives that point home even further. One is so exhausted or jaded or brainwashed that perhaps they don't even see the exit anymore. He or she is stuck in the moment.
